Gear Slingers x CPSWE Open 2024
We hosted our very first official VEX U tournament alongside SWE. All in one day, VEX U teams from across California and Arizona came to compete, with 3 worlds qualification spots on the line. Hosted in Bonderson Center at Cal Poly, the event had a competition field, a skills field, and a practice field at the event.

After Qualification matches, teams were seeded into a 16 team elimination bracket to see who would be crowned the tournament champion!
Through a hard-fought 16 team elimination bracket, CPSLO and PERRY met in the Finals. In a Best of 3, CPSLO won 2 in a row, taking home the title of tournament champion!

Gear Slingers Open Invitational 2023
We hosted our very first unofficial VEX event for teams competing in VRC and VEX U! This 1 day event located here at Cal Poly was an opportunity for collaboration between university and high school teams. We were happy to have a fun and friendly mix of competition between teams!
With 6 university teams and 2 high school teams, we competed in a VEX U format competition, combining the 2 high school teams into 1!
With 7 teams competing, we held qualification matches where everyone played each other once. The results are as follows:

Through a double elimination format, we headed into the elimination rounds, the results are as follows:
Following the double elimination format, the hosting team CPSLO were the tournament champions, with the 2 high school teams 920B and 49637A placing as finalists. We had 2 judges awards, won by CSUN1 and MTSAC1.
